Counterfeit health supplements represent one of the greatest dangers facing the Indian fitness community today. Substandard, adulterated powders blended with maltodextrin, starches, or banned compounds can cause severe gastrointestinal distress, allergic reactions, and long-term organ strain. As Hyderabad's authorized retail chain, The Nutrition World outlines the non-negotiable 5-step checklist to ensure your supplements are 100% genuine.

1. Inspect the Outer Plastic Shrink Wrap & Cap Seal

Authentic international and premium Indian brands utilize heavy-duty, tamper-evident shrink bands around the lid. Look for a laser-perforated tear strip that separates cleanly without jagged tears, brand watermarks, and absence of glue residue.

2. Locate the Primary Authorized Indian Importer Hologram

Foreign supplement brands manufactured in the USA or Europe (such as ON, Dymatize, GNC, Muscletech, Cellucor) cannot be legally imported into India by uncertified merchants. Every authentic tub must bear the official holographic sticker of the appointed Indian importer (Glanbia, Bright Lifecare, Guardian Healthcare).

3. Scratch the Security Foil to Reveal Your Unique Code

Never accept a container where the scratch-off silver panel has been rubbed off, punctured, or exposed. Gently scrape the silver coating with a coin to expose the unique alphanumeric code.

4. Verify Directly via Official Brand SMS or Portal

Authenticate immediately through official brand communication channels (such as SMS 57575 for ON or authenticateon.in). If an SMS or web lookup returns "Code already redeemed" or "Invalid code", do not open the inner seal. Return the container immediately.

5. Verify the Inner Pressure Induction Neck Seal

Once the lid is unscrewed, inspect the inner seal adhered to the rim. It should be hermetically sealed with zero gaps or bubbling, featuring uniform micro-embossed brand logos or clean, medical-grade induction seals.
